BBBSPGH Volunteers Honored

The BBBSPGH community gathered recently to honor and celebrate volunteers who help keep our organization as one of the best youth mentoring resources in the region!

At the beautiful Mayernik Center in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh, The BBBSPGH Volunteer Recognition event enabled attendees to honor Dan O’Brien and Jennifer Antoon as not just BBBSPGH Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year, but also as the Pennsylvania Big Brother and Big Sister for 2023!

Community Partners that strive to make a difference in a child’s life were also honored:
  • Emerging Partner of the Year (Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation)
  • Partners of the Year (Pizza Parma and Covalent)
  • Corporate Partner of the Year (Continental Building Company).
“This is a way to honor and thank all of our volunteers with a dinner and an evening out, while recognizing a few outstanding Bigs and community partners,” said Becky Flaherty, CEO of BBBSPGH.

In addition to the awards portion, Bigs in attendance were able to write message to their graduating Littles on a “well wishes” board. Also, a video played throughout the evening to display messages of thanks to the volunteers from Littles, parents, staff, etc.
