Big Brothers Big Sisters Month Shines a Light on Our Work

September 2022 marked our second annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Month! We had a great set of activities that helped raise awareness about the importance of mentorship, grow the Big Brothers Big Sisters network of volunteer mentors (Bigs), and highlight the impact each donation makes to increase our ability to reach more young people.

The role that mentors play in the lives of young people is more than simply providing support on their day-to-day lives. In these seemingly small moments of connection, our Bigs are helping pave the way for positive long-term outcomes.

Did you know that Big Brothers Big Sisters is the preeminent national leader in one-to-one youth mentoring? Our Greater Pittsburgh chapter is one of 238 agencies across the country, who collectively work with over 400,000 Littles, their families, and Bigs each year. Established in 1904, the BBBS vision is for all youth to achieve their full potential.

We put together a great video commemorating this month. Take a look!
