Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh Names New CEO
Big Brothers Big Sister of Greater Pittsburgh (BBBSPGH) is thrilled to announce Marc Bloomingdale as its new Chief Executive Officer. Bloomingdale succeeds interim CEO Chris Dinnin, who has served BBBSPGH for many years in various roles including a volunteer Big Brother and past President of the Board of Directors.
Bloomingdale brings an impressive background and history of success leading and growing organizations, most recently the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. There, as Chief Operating Officer, he procured food for approximately seven hundred partner programs and pantries in the area. In addition, he provided strategic leadership, rebuilt a critical financial system, and stepped in as interim Chief Financial Officer. Throughout his career, Bloomingdale has worked tirelessly to help people of all walks of life. He is honored and humbled to be joining the BBBSPGH team.
“An engaged and interested adult can help a young person change the trajectory of their life. This was the case for me; I know I am not alone. Joining the Big Brothers Big Sisters team and bringing my journey full circle is a dream come true. I am excited to join this amazing team and help the young people in the Greater Pittsburgh area reach their full potential,” said Bloomingdale.
Although Bloomingdale grew up in the St. Louis area, he is no stranger to Pittsburgh. He spent nearly seven years as President and CEO of the Lutheran Service Society of Western Pennsylvania. He is looking forward to once again calling Pittsburgh home. BBBSPGH Board President, Jennifer Petrisek, is confident Bloomingdale will continue to expand BBBSPGH’s extensive and life-changing reach throughout the region.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters has made a profound impact on countless children and families across western Pennsylvania. We are looking forward to continuing our tradition of mentorship, while incorporating the innovative strategies Marc brings to the table,” said Petrisek.
Bloomingdale’s prior positions include leadership roles with Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa, Inc and Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma. He received a Bachelor of Science from Truman State University and a Master of Science from Iowa State University.
