Congratulations to our own Zandra McDonald, Director of Programs, for winning a 2022 Get Involved! Western PA Rising Stars! award.

Get Involved! Inc. annually hosts the Pittsburgh Service Summit to recognize outstanding community service leaders in our region. The Get Involved! Western PA Rising Stars awards are presented annually to local young professionals in the non-profit, business, and governmental sectors who dedicate their time and talent to community organizations and who are making a positive difference in the region. The 2022 Get Involved! Inc Pittsburgh Service Summit award winners were honored recently at an Allegheny County Council meeting.

Zandra most recently has been instrumental in the creation and development of two popular and successful BBBSPGH programs - Sports Buddies and Big Sibs - which enables us to reach wider and more diverse populations.

“It is an honor to receive this award and to be recognized for the work that is being done to empower youth in our region. I wouldn’t be where I am without the time and effort many people poured into me over the years. This award reminds me how important mentors are to have starting in childhood and still today in adulthood,” said Zanrda.

“My village has and continues to help me see my potential and never lets me forget that the work I am doing is so important. I hope this award brings attention to what is happening at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh, and I look forward to continuing to expand programming in necessary ways to support youth.  I am so grateful to be a part of igniting the potential of many futures and thankful for this recognition and opportunity.”
