Our first responders have a big role in our community, but in Washington County, law enforcement officers are taking the extra step to be active mentors to their local youngsters. Washington County sheriff’s deputies and state police troopers embraced the BBBSPGH “Bigs in Blue” program and are working with fourth graders from Washington Park Elementary. Officers visit the school twice a month for lunch and activities with their “littles”.
