We believe that all children should have the opportunity to succeed in life and live up to their full potential. Some kids need someone to help them along that path.

The power of mentorship lies in the moments that spark curiosity, aspiration, and inspire potential. Maybe it was the coach who encouraged you to keep going. The guidance counselor who insisted your dreams were within reach.

Even the littlest moments can grow into big ones — with a little encouragement, a little hope, and a little inspiration.

You don’t need to have a specific title, a degree, or any special qualifications other than being compassionate, patient, and accepting.

It takes a little time, a little encouragement, and a laugh or two, so that every child has what–and who–they need to achieve a BIG and brighter future.

    Our customer service representative will send an email with our enrollment package. This will include information on clearances, background checks, and scheduling a volunteer interview.

    The interview process allows us to learn more about you so that we can match you with a Little based on goegraphy, preferences, and interests.

    Volunteer Training

    Complete the mentor training with our professional staff. All volunteers are required to attend volunteer training to learn more about BBBSPGH before acceptance as a Big.

    You’re Matched!

    You’re Matched!

    Meet your Little and their family for the first time. Your match meeting will be facilitated by a BBBSPGH staff member to make introductions.

    Ongoing Support

    STEP 6

    Ongoing Support

    A Match Support Specialist from BBBSPGH will be in regular contact with you, your Little, and their guardian to provide assistance and give feedback. Child safety is our top priority.
